Nillumbik Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Carl Cowie has made the decision to close the Council’s aquatic, indoor sport and leisure facilities.
As a result, Eltham Leisure Centre will temporarily close from close of business tonight, Friday March 20 until Monday, April 13, at this stage.
Our 24/7 gym access will also no longer be available.
This precautionary action has been taken in line with the Government’s effort to protect the health and safety of our country, and to minimise the impact on our health care system in the wake of this crisis.
“Public health and safety continues to be our number one priority, and while there will be significant inconvenience to our members and guests as a result of these changes, we hope that these precautionary actions work as a positive step towards slowing the spread of the virus.” said Nillumbik Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Carl Cowie.
“Our centre is currently working to contact all of our customers to ensure that they are kept fully informed as this situation unfolds, and look forward to welcoming everyone back at the earliest available opportunity.”
