Planned Power Outage – Monday 8th August

We have been advised by SP Ausnet that a planned power will interrupt the power supply to Eltham Leisure Centre on Monday 8th August, 2022, between 9.00am and 4.00pm.

The staff team have planned to maintain as many services as possible during this time with temporary lighting and sound systems. Please note due to the high volume of energy use during this winter period, our solar batteries will only last a very brief period after the initial power outage.

Affected services are:

• Gym – No cardio machines will be available
• Group Fitness – the following classes will NOT run on this day:
  • Cycle studio
    • 9.10am RPM
    • Plus virtual classes
  • Main Studio
    • 9.10am Body Pump
    • 10.15am Active Movers
    • 11.20am Tone
    • 1.30pm Active Movers
    • Plus virtual classes
  • Aqua
    • 1.00pm Active Aqua
  • Reformer Pilates and Wellness classes will run due to the natural lighting available in these rooms
• Aquatics 
  • 25m, Warm Water Pool and Learn to Swim Pools, will be open with natural lighting pools will be open until approximately 12:30pm, from there regular interval pool water quality testing will occur every 30 minutes until the levels fall out of required regulation and force a closure of these facilities
  • Spa, Steam, Sauna will be unavailable during the power outage period
  • No hot water available in shower facilities during the power outage period
  • Limited change room facilities due to visibility issues
• Swim Lessons
  • Morning Swim Lessons – Swim lessons will remain on for morning classes, please ensure you and your little ones dress warmly for a cooler than normal exit from the pool area, and remember there will be limited change room facilities due to visibility issues.
  • Afternoon Swim Lessons – 4.00pm classes will be cancelled with an automatic credit placed on students accounts, lessons for 4.30pm onwards will resume as normal.
• Child Care – Child care services will run as per normal, however there will be no heating. Parents are encouraged to dress children warmly if they have bookings in on this day.
