The entire staff team at your Eltham Leisure Centre will be undertaking their annual emergency management and evacuation training workshop on Sunday 23rd May 2021. To ensure all team members can be involved and have 100% focus on the sessions the centre is closed to the public from 6pm.
24-7 gym access will also be unavailable from 6pm – 8pm.
Focusing on each area of the venue; the team will run through a series of emergency scenarios that involve mock evacuations, reviews and feedback sessions.
Eltham Leisure Centre Manager Kathryn Williams stated: “To ensure we can keep our members and guests safe in the event of a real life scenario it is important we have the chance to put our emergency management systems to the test in a controlled environment.”
Training sessions such as this are required to be completed as outlined in the guidelines and codes of practice within the aquatic and recreation industry.
Williams added “Over the past 12-18 months our team has grown immensely with new staff members and it is important we provide the space for these vital workshops. Whilst we understand some of our members and guests may be impacted by this closure; we have chosen a time and day that would minimize this impact.”
Further workshops will be conducted at the other Nillumbik Leisure Facilities in the coming weeks including Community Bank Stadium and Diamond Creek Community Centre with further information to come.
